According to an article on CNN, doing hundreds of crunches per day may be futile in the pursuit to attain six pack abs. The fat overlaying your abdomen will prevent any muscle definition from showing through. The solution, you must completely overhaul your diet. Experts recommend increasing the amount of protein you eat to preserve lean muscle mass, which affects your resting metabolism. High quality carbohydrates, such as fruits and vegetables, should also be eaten more often to help with your energy levels. They also suggest eating more fiber and drinking more water to prevent bloating. Lastly, we need to manage stress levels because stress induces the production of cortisol, which promotes fat deposits in the abdomen. After making these adjustments and continuing your stringent workout routine, you should be able to get the six pack abs you’ve always wanted (fingers crossed).
